At the start of the decade, we Pasi and Tuomas were efficient but frustrated. We delivered what was asked and met the deadlines. On paper, everything looked fine.
Yet the same frustrating pattern kept repeating. All that effort didn’t lead to real results. The focus was always on the wrong things: delivery times, deadlines, and new features. No one stopped to ask if we were solving the right problems or creating genuine value.
We realized we were witnessing the original sin of Finnish product management. Organizations suffered from too much control, while true, inspiring leadership was missing. In its place: endless meetings and directionless reporting. Scrum and SAFe had turned into empty theater.
That realization lit a spark in us. We dove headfirst into the world of product management—devouring books and podcasts, and having countless (and often frustrating) conversations. We came to understand that the problem wasn’t the amount of work, but the direction. Companies were focusing on the wrong things.
After a few jobs and years, we knew this challenge couldn’t be solved within just one company. We could no longer stand by and watch teams struggle.
That’s how Tuumo was born
Our mission is clear: to help Finnish technology companies shift from endless ticket-churning to creating meaningful results. We want to build environments where the focus isn’t on feature lists, but on clear, measurable outcomes.
We want to bring back joy and purpose to work. To create a culture where autonomy and genuine enthusiasm fuel sustainable success.
We do this out of love for the craft. 🩷
